POSITION SUMMARY

Pioneer Technical Services, Inc.  is currently looking to fill a Hydrogeological Engineering position in its Butte, Montana, office.

The position responsibilities encompass all aspects of hydrogeology, engineering, and the management and implementation of a diverse set of petroleum and mining contamination projects for federal, state, and private sector clients within the Pacific Northwest Region.   This will include interaction with clients, management of projects, site assessments, remedial investigations and remediation, remedial alternative assessments, remediation system design, emerging technologies demonstrations, pilot testing, technology validation aquifer testing, dewatering, geophysical logging, groundwater sampling, computer modeling of groundwater flow and contaminant transport, subsurface barrier design, writing and reviewing reports, and technical support for engineering designs.

Minimally, the position requires that you have a bachelors' degree in hydrogeology and/or related geosciences field, advanced experience working on projects related to the field of hydrogeology, and a minimum of 6 to 15 years of experience working in the field of hydrogeology or hydrogeological engineering. We prefer that you have a master's degree in hydrogeological engineering and/or a Professional Engineering license. The ideal candidate would have experience working in several of the following areas: Comprehensive Environmental Cleanup and Responsibility Act (CECRA) remediation activities; Phase I and Phase II site investigations; Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST), Brownsfield, Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA), CERCLA (Superfund) and Abandoned Mine projects and/or a knowledge of NAPL recovery systems, in-situ chemical oxidation treatment, construction dewatering, air sparging/soil vapor extraction, excavation and reclamation. Candidate must have a valid drivers license. 

Education: Bachelor's degree (required)

Field of Study: Hydrogeology (preferred), but not necessary

Masters Degree (preferred) and relevant professional engineering or equivalent accreditation (REQUIRED)

Experience: 6-15+ years of experience in consulting or practice

Computer skills: Must be proficient in using technology and computers relevant to the profession.  This included MS WORD and EXCEL and groundwater modeling software (e.g., MODFLOW, Aqtesolv, GMS, etc.).
